In the meantime, I fixed / finished the book cover. Huzzah! I hope the thing with the 't' is acceptable. I think it is because it feels like it is functioning as a letter and as a connective graphic element at the same time. I printed it out as well, on luster, and it looks great! The spine fits now, but because of that, I forgot to alter the covers accordingly as well. Gotta move it all over at least .25 in on both sides. Other than that, it's freaking perfect! CD cover can be worked on next. :) At least it will be easy and I've got things done already.
Also, printing the cover was terrible, even if it was a test. First, the file size was too large for the printers to handle, transparency / file placements caused weird things in ID which makes the PDF all desaturated. There was no way to export a rasterized pdf. So.....sooo....I broke the rules and got Carly to help me print a jpeg. YES A jpeg! A 600 + dpi CMYK jpeg, though. The only way to truly preserve the appearance. And guess what!? It was the second printout after the shitty PDF, and it is probably the truest, best print out I have ever completed. The colors match what was on my screen exactly, it's still high-quality, nothing is being f-ed up by InDesign, etc! Just wait until you see it Rusty! I'll be able to submit a PDF and even ID file to turn in though (I changed everything to semi-rasterized tiffs and non-transparent items in the document, but it is still being strange). Everything just messes up when you try to print it. Oh well. Success. Except for the sizing on the edges. But that is a minor issue.
Next, did some updates to Feeling Full. Gahhhh....I just want it approved already. There isn't that much you can do with such a copy-heavy spread!
Okay, okay.....Chili and Black History Month GO! Will do the drawing for SOI before the weekend is up. Speaking of Black History Month and my other projects, I should do what I promised and look for photos for color inspiration! TO PINTEREST!
